We have been approached by a guy who is currently furloughed and wanted to do his bit for the NHS in his spare time. He has been producing a small device to tie face masks to, rather than behind the ears. Key workers are finding the face masks uncomfortable to wear for long periods and the small device takes this away. We have stepped in and offered to produce 500 a day to start with so they can be distributed throughout hospitals and care homes. Should any hospitals or care homes require any, please drop us a line at firstname.lastname@example.org or by calling 0800 0560404 and we can send them free of charge.
Frontline NHS Staff
Our fight against Covid-19
During the Coronavirus pandemic we have been approached by many industries wanting to assist the government in manufacturing personal protective equipment in helping the fight against this awful invisible disease.
Opus customers with Oculus laser cutting machines who are unable to carry out their normal business activity due to the lockdown are utilising their laser cutters to design and manufacture visors for the NHS front line staff made from PETG material.
One customer in particular, TJ Morgan an engineering company in Wales are working with The Royal Mint to mass produce up to 20,000 visors per day. They approached us to see if we had any Oculus laser machines to cut the designs belonging to The Royal Mint. Opus decided rather than sell them the machines we would loan them to ensure costs were minimised.
We have many customers with Oculus flatbed laser cutting machines who predominantly specialise in plastic fabrication or signage now putting their machines through their paces to also help in the fight against Covid-19. Due to the speed of the Oculus laser, customers are able to produce on a large-scale.
Any customers, who would like to join the fight against Covid-19 and would like to mass produce the medical visors, can find more information by emailing email@example.com.
We have also helped our customers by offering to extend their warranties by an additional 3 months. This is to help during the lockdown period so customers do not lose out for not being able to use their machines. We also have a vast range of consumable items such as CO2 tubes, mirrors and lenses available for customers existing and new. Whilst our engineers are currently working remotely, we are able to allow them to carry out repairs on machinery currently being used to support the NHS.
