CNC Routers for Cabinet Making Companies
Build smarter. Deliver faster. Stay in control.
The Cabinet Maker’s Dilemma
In every cabinet maker’s workshop, there’s a balance to strike: staying true to craftsmanship while finding ways to meet modern customer expectations—faster lead times, custom options, consistent quality, and competitive pricing.
But when you’re hand-cutting panels, repeating measurements, or juggling multiple projects, time becomes your most expensive material.
That’s where Opus CNC routers come in.
Our machines are helping UK cabinet makers streamline their workflow, scale their output, and still keep that bespoke quality that sets them apart.
What a CNC Router Brings to Your Cabinet Shop
Imagine being able to:
- Cut an entire kitchen carcass in one go—with grooves, holes, profiles, and rebates already machined
- Replicate bespoke designs exactly for repeat orders or showroom models
- Optimise every board with nesting software to reduce offcuts and costs
- Create more time for finishing and detailing work that truly adds value
With an Opus CNC router, you don’t just improve speed—you increase your control over consistency, accuracy, and customer satisfaction.
Tailored to Your Projects:
Whether you’re making:
- In-frame shaker kitchens
- Handleless or slab-door units
- Built-in wardrobes and alcove furniture
- Home offices and utility cabinetry
- Or even bespoke one-off designs
…our routers adapt to your needs.
Frequently Asked Questions for Cabinet Makers
Can I use my current cabinet software with your machines?
Yes, absolutely. Our CNC routers are fully compatible with leading cabinet design software including VCarve Pro, Cabinet Vision, Fusion 360, and other common CAD/CAM systems. Most of our cabinet-making customers use VCarve for its ease of use and nesting capabilities, but if you’re using Cabinet Vision, we’ll help ensure your post processor is set up correctly to output the required G-code for your machine. During installation, our engineers walk you through the full software-to-machine process, so you’re confident from the very first job.
Is an automatic tool changer necessary for cabinet making?
It’s highly recommended, especially if you’re cutting full cabinet sets. An ATC (automatic tool changer) allows the router to automatically switch between different cutting tools mid-job—for example, switching from a straight cutter to a grooving bit, or from a profile cutter to a drill. This removes the need to manually stop and change tools, saving time, reducing human error, and enabling fully automated production from a single file. For cabinet makers producing kitchen carcasses, wardrobes, or bespoke furniture, an ATC significantly boosts efficiency and accuracy.
What if I only have single-phase power?
No problem. Our Olympus ATC CNC router is available in a single-phase version, designed specifically for smaller or domestic-based workshops that don’t have access to a three-phase electrical supply. Despite being single-phase, it still offers robust cutting performance, an 8-position tool changer, and the same industrial build quality as our larger machines. This makes it a great option for smaller cabinet makers, bespoke joiners, and growing businesses that need production power without rewiring their premises.
Can your machines handle laminated or veneered boards?
Yes — our routers are perfectly suited to cutting MFC (melamine-faced chipboard), veneered MDF, birch ply, laminated sheets, and other composite panels. With the right tooling and speeds, you can achieve clean, chip-free edges that are ready for edging or finishing. We’ll provide guidance on choosing the best tooling and feed rates based on the materials you use, and our powerful vacuum beds keep sheets flat and secure throughout the cutting process. You’ll be able to cut your panels with minimal waste, cleaner finishes, and fewer defects—especially on double-faced or delicate boards.
