Field Service Engineer

A customer-facing engineering role focused on CNC router installations, commissioning, troubleshooting and hands-on training at customer sites across the UK.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead CNC router installations at customer sites.
  • Carry out system testing, calibration and commissioning.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during installation.
  • Provide customer training on safe operation and maintenance.
  • Maintain clear documentation of installations and customer interactions.

What we are looking for

  • Experience installing CNC routers or similar complex machinery.
  • Strong understanding of CNC systems, software and automation.
  • Ability to read technical drawings and schematics.
  • Excellent problem-solving and customer service skills.
  • Full clean driving licence and willingness to work away during the week.

Warehouse Operative

A hands-on warehouse role preparing machinery for delivery, assisting with inspections, keeping equipment organised and supporting smooth logistics.

  • Inspect machinery to ensure it meets quality standards.
  • Clean, check and prepare equipment before delivery.
  • Pack, protect and secure machinery for shipment.
  • Support stock control, inventory records and warehouse organisation.

What we are looking for

  • Experience in warehouse operations or machinery handling.
  • Good mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
  • Ability to follow instructions and safety procedures.
  • Comfortable working in a practical warehouse environment.
  • Forklift certification would be beneficial.

Administration Assistant

An organised office-based role supporting customer service, scheduling, job planning and day-to-day administration for the Opus CNC team.

Key responsibilities

  • Answer incoming calls and provide excellent customer service.
  • Liaise with directors and engineers to plan and schedule jobs.
  • Maintain records, databases and customer information.
  • Support the smooth running of the office with general administration.
  • Help coordinate communication between customers and the engineering team.

What we are looking for

  • Strong telephone manner and clear communication skills.
  • Experience in planning or scheduling is preferred but not essential.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a busy environment.
  • Proactive, organised and able to work independently.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office and admin tools.
