Lotus 5 Axis CNC Router machine overview

Engineered for Complex 3D Machining and Precision Components

The Lotus has been developed for users who need more than standard flat-bed routing. With five-axis movement, the cutting tool can approach the workpiece from multiple angles, helping operators create complex contours, detailed 3D forms and high-precision finished parts.

It is a strong option for advanced machining applications including mould-making, aerospace-style components, automotive work, specialist woodworking, composites, plastics and aluminium machining where accuracy and surface quality matter.

Built for Intricate Designs, Complex Geometries and Demanding Machining

The Lotus gives workshops and manufacturers the ability to machine more advanced surfaces with fewer setups, improved access to the workpiece and a production platform designed for precision.

What makes the Lotus a 5-axis CNC router?

A standard 3-axis CNC router moves across X, Y and Z. The Lotus adds additional rotational movement so the tool can work from multiple angles, helping produce complex 3D forms, smoother surfaces and detailed components that would be difficult to achieve with a standard 3-axis or 4-axis machine.

Lotus 5 Axis CNC Router five-axis machining capability

Simultaneous 5-Axis Capability

Designed for advanced 3D machining where complex forms need to be cut from multiple angles.

Enhanced Precision

Multi-angle tool access supports high-accuracy machining across contoured surfaces and detailed components.

Reduced Setups

More faces of the workpiece can be machined without repeatedly removing, rotating and re-fixturing the material.

Improved Finish Quality

Approaching the workpiece from suitable tool angles can help reduce post-finishing on complex surfaces.

Material Versatility

Suitable for a wide range of materials including wood, aluminium, plastics and composites.

Specialist Production

Ideal for industries requiring high-quality advanced machining, including mould-making, automotive and aerospace-style work.

Lotus technology

Control, spindle and machine design

The Lotus combines a Syntec 5-axis control platform, Hiteco spindle technology, automatic tool changing and a stable moving-table design for high-precision production work.

Syntec Syntec 5-axis control system supplied as standard, with advanced functions including tool wear compensation.
Hiteco Hiteco 11kW water-cooled spindle for precision, accuracy and demanding 5-axis machining.
ATC 12 ISO30 tools on a carousel system for fast automatic tool changes without manual intervention.
01

Moving table stability

The moving table and stationary gantry design help support machine strength, reduce vibration and maintain consistent cutting performance.

02

Separate control box

The separate control box helps keep key electrical components away from excess dust, debris and workshop contamination.

03

Fusion 360 compatible

The Lotus works alongside Fusion 360 for advanced 3D CAD/CAM workflows, with training and post-processor support available through Opus engineers.

04

Bespoke sizing support

Lotus machines can be manufactured to standard or bespoke sizes, allowing the Opus team to advise around your component sizes and production needs.

Lotus 5 Axis CNC Router Sizes
