Not sure where to start?

Choose by production intent, not just machine name.

The right router depends on what you cut, how often you change tools, how quickly jobs need to move and whether your team needs a simpler manual platform or a more automated production cell.

In-house starter production Olympus

Best when you need a dependable industrial machine for sheet work without automatic tool change.

Growing workshop output Olympus PRO

Best when stronger performance, servo motion and an upgrade path matter to the business case.

Multi-tool production Olympus ATC

Best when reducing manual tool changes will save time across repeated or nested jobs.

Premium continuous workload Pegasus ATC

Best when component specification, control, spindle quality and throughput are the priority.

Details that matter once the machine starts cutting.

Hold-down, safeguarding and practical machine setup all influence how confidently a CNC router performs in a real production environment.

Opus CNC tapered matrix vacuum bed

Strong vacuum hold-down

The enhanced matrix vacuum bed helps distribute airflow across the active vacuum zone, supporting strong material hold-down and improved sheet stability.

CNC router vacuum bed zoning diagram

Practical zoning

Dedicated zones help concentrate suction around the sheet size in use rather than relying on full-bed airflow for every job.

Safeguarding supplied as part of the machine package.

Opus CNC routers are supplied with up to four sets of safety light barriers and freestanding posts, positioned around the machine as required as part of the safeguarding arrangement.

Configure the machine around your workflow.

Selected Opus CNC routers can be specified with specialist options for cutting, registration, drilling, rotary work and machine control.

Oscillating blade CNC attachment

Oscillating Blade

Specialist cutting for materials that are better processed with a controlled blade rather than a conventional router cutter.

Tangential knife CNC attachment

Tangential Knife

Designed for selected softer materials where controlled blade direction supports cleaner, more consistent cutting.

Opus CNC PC controller

PC Controller

A networkable PC-based control option for improved usability, file management and machine workflow.

Rotary device CNC router attachment

Rotary Device

Enables 360° workpiece rotation for cylindrical carving, engraving and specialist component production.

CNC router drill bank

Drill Bank

Additional multi-bit drilling capability for production workflows requiring repeated drilling operations alongside routing.

CCD camera registration system

CCD Camera

Registration technology for detecting pre-printed marks and aligning cutting toolpaths in print and signage workflows.

Specialist attachments should be discussed before ordering because they can affect machine specification, gantry clearance, lead time, workspace and installation planning.

Automatic loading & offloading for higher-volume production.

For larger sheet-processing environments, selected CNC routers can be configured with automatic tables to support material handling before and after machining.

Designed around larger sheet handling and production flow.
Specified to suit machine size, workspace and process.

Common CNC router questions.

Straightforward answers about machine size, tool change, materials, software, installation, finance, support and UKCA documentation.

What size CNC router bed do I need?

A 1325 CNC router is commonly chosen for standard 8×4 sheet work. Larger models such as 1530, 2030 and above are better suited to bigger sheets, nested components and higher production requirements.

What is the difference between manual and automatic tool change?

Manual tool change machines require the operator to change cutters by hand. Automatic tool change machines change tools during the programme, helping reduce setup time and improve productivity on jobs using multiple cutters.

What materials can Opus CNC routers cut?

Opus CNC routers are suitable for MDF, plywood, hardwoods, plastics, foams, composites, solid surface materials and similar sheet products. Aluminium can also be machined with the correct tooling, feeds, speeds and optional mist-spray setup.

What is included with an Opus CNC router?

Opus CNC router packages include delivery, installation, commissioning, machine training, software training and aftercare support from the Opus team.

What software is included?

Opus 3-axis CNC routers are supplied with VCarve Pro. Fusion 360 is not supplied as standard, but our team can assist customers who use it for more advanced CAD/CAM workflows.

How long does delivery and installation take?

Installation usually takes around one day, depending on the model, specification and site access. Lead times vary depending on whether the machine is in stock or ordered to specification.

Do you provide finance or leasing options?

Yes. Finance and leasing options are available through finance partners, subject to status and approval.

How do you support customers after installation?

Support continues after installation through phone, email and remote technical guidance. Our engineers can assist with troubleshooting, servicing, parts and ongoing machine support.

What conformity documentation is supplied with the machine?

CNC routers supplied by Opus CNC are provided with the applicable conformity marking, Declaration of Conformity and supporting safety documentation relevant to the machine and market of supply.
