The Next Generation Of Engineering Talent

We are proud to welcome two young trainee service engineers to Opus CNC as they begin their careers in engineering. At 16 and 18, Oliver and David are gaining hands-on experience alongside our established engineering team while developing the practical skills needed to support CNC machinery in real customer environments.

Investing In Skills For The Future.

Bringing new people into engineering is important for the future of the industry. David and Oliver are beginning their careers with Opus CNC as trainee service engineers, working alongside experienced members of our team and learning through practical involvement.

Their development will include the areas that matter in day-to-day customer support: CNC router and fibre laser installation, commissioning, servicing, fault-finding, routine maintenance and professional customer care.

Our engineering team has decades of combined experience. Passing that knowledge on through structured guidance, hands-on work and real customer environments helps ensure valuable practical skills continue into the next generation.

The aim is simple: give young engineers the time, support and practical experience they need to develop confidence, technical understanding and strong working habits.

More Than Learning How A Machine Works.

Engineering support involves technical knowledge, practical judgement and the ability to work professionally with customers. Their training will develop all three.

01

Hands-On Experience

Learning through practical involvement with machinery, installation work, servicing and routine engineering tasks.

02

Experienced Mentorship

Working alongside experienced Opus engineers who can explain not just what to do, but why good engineering practice matters.

03

Customer-Focused Skills

Building the communication, professionalism and problem-solving skills needed when supporting machinery on customer sites.

Meet Our Trainee Service Engineers.

Two different personalities, one shared starting point: learning the engineering skills that will support their careers for years to come.

David, trainee service engineer at Opus CNC

David

Trainee Service Engineer · Age 18

David is the elder of our two new recruits at the grand age of 18. A die-hard football fan, he spends plenty of time on FIFA as well as following the real game — and remains confident that his virtual skills are Premier League standard.

Away from football, David has swapped boots for hiking boots on more than 30 mountains. His favourite so far is Scafell — apparently one of the few that did not make him reconsider the whole idea halfway up.

Oliver, trainee service engineer at Opus CNC

Oliver

Trainee Service Engineer · Age 16

At 16, Oliver is our youngest recruit and already has a strong interest in anything mechanical. From tools and components to CNC machinery, he is keen to understand how things work and get involved practically.

Outside work, you will probably find him playing Fortnite or watching Newcastle United. He may not yet have David's mountain tally, but he maintains that surviving a wet family camping trip deserves recognition as an extreme sport in its own right.

Building Experience Step By Step.

Their development will grow as their knowledge and confidence increase, with experienced engineers alongside them throughout the process.

01

Workshop Foundations

Understanding machinery, components, tools, safe working practices and the standards expected from the engineering team.
