The Next Generation

We’re excited to welcome two new members to the Opus CNC team at just 16 and 18 years old, they are beginning their careers with us as trainee service engineers.

This is an important step not only for them, but also for our continued commitment to investing in the next generation of engineering talent. Both will receive full hands-on training from our experienced engineers, learning every aspect of CNC router and laser cutter installation, servicing, and customer support.

Our team has decades of combined experience, and we believe the best way to pass on that knowledge is through real-world training, mentorship, and involvement in day-to-day projects. From working on precision machine builds to supporting our customers on-site, they will gain the skills and confidence needed to become fully qualified engineers.

Encouraging young people to enter the engineering field is something we’re deeply passionate about. By bringing in fresh talent, we’re not only supporting their career aspirations but also securing the future of skilled engineering in the UK.

David

David is the elder of our two new recruits at the grand age of 18. A die-hard football fan, he spends as much time on FIFA as he does watching the real thing, though he swears his virtual skills would land him a Premier League contract if only managers were paying attention.

Away from the screen, David’s swapped football boots for hiking boots, having climbed over 30 mountains so far. His favourite is Scafell, mainly because, in his words, “it’s the only one that didn’t make me question my life choices halfway up.

Oliver

At 16, our youngest recruit Oliver is already showing he’s ready to take on the engineering world. He’s fascinated by anything mechanical, from intricate tools to high-tech CNC machines, and is eager to get hands-on. Whilst he hasn’t yet climbed 30 mountains like David, he insists that surviving a family camping trip in the rain should count as an extreme sport.

When he’s not learning the ropes at Opus CNC, you’ll probably find him playing Fortnite or for his sins, watching his beloved team Newcastle United!

The decision to take on two young apprentices reflects our commitment to growth, both for our company and for the industry as a whole. We’re proud to provide them with the tools, training, and environment they need to succeed.

We have no doubt that with dedication, hard work, and the support of the entire Opus CNC team, they’ll become invaluable members of our engineering workforce in the years to come.

Welcome aboard, your journey starts here!
